Artist Statement

In my art I transform my memories, my culture, into landscapes of creatMy practice of singing dreams, memory, with paint, movement, watercolor and installation. I paint from places of dream; My work explores longing, transformation, and the search for connection through ritual, garment, painting, and performance. I am interested in the spaces of ritual connection and invisibility between the body and spirit, exile and return, isolation and communion. Through textiles, projected imagery, writing, and movement, I create immersive environments that feel both intimate and mythic. What is real for me it honor the discomfort, make into art, create worlds of light.
