Artist Statement

I am an oil painter working between abstraction and figuration, creating layered landscapes where human presence appears in fragments—most often through hands.
My work explores the relationship between bodies and their environments. These imagined spaces are neither fully real nor entirely fictional; they operate as shifting terrains where gestures, lines, and colours suggest moments of contact, hesitation, and exchange. Hands become a central motif—reduced yet expressive—acting as carriers of intention, tension, and connection.
Colour plays a structuring role in my practice. Rather than describing reality, it builds it: defining space, directing movement, and generating emotional resonance. Through contrasts, transparencies, and overlaps, I construct environments that remain open, unstable, and in transformation.
My paintings are developed through a process of layering, masking, and revealing. This gradual construction allows forms to emerge unpredictably, creating a balance between control and release. The image is not fixed from the start; it unfolds through interaction with the material itself.
By bringing together abstraction, landscape, and fragments of the human body, I aim to create spaces where viewers can navigate their own interpretations—encountering moments of proximity, distance, and ambiguity that echo our ways of relating to the world and to one another
