Artist Statement

My work explores the presence of what is often overlooked. I create assemblage and mixed media pieces using discarded materials, textiles, and found objects that carry traces of time, use, and human experience.
Working from the San Diego–Tijuana border, I investigate material migration, the dignity of imperfection, and the value of what has been cast aside. My practice is informed by an understanding of the body and its language, where materials and structures reflect both physical and emotional states.
Each work functions as a contained space where memory, weight, and silence become tangible. Rather than illustrating narratives, I create conditions for a quiet, direct encounter where the viewer engages with presence, not explanation.
