Artist Statement

With a photograph, mood can shift through something as simple as color, light, or geometry. Every element carries weight; each holds its own energy. A clear sky and a fogged horizon do not simply describe different conditions, they generate entirely different emotional landscapes. Over time, I came to understand that this sensitivity to atmosphere extends beyond photography and into life itself. Through awareness and choice, we shape the energy we carry forward. My work reflects this process.

My practice is grounded in observation, presence, and attunement. I move through the world with an awareness that allows me to recognize when something reveals itself, through light, spatial relationships, or form. I am drawn to environments where structure begins to soften, where clarity and obscurity coexist, and where something intangible can be felt rather than explained. These are often quiet, transitional spaces such as coastal edges, shifting weather, and urban atmospheres, where presence feels both grounded and fleeting.

Editing is an extension of that awareness. It is not used to fabricate, but to refine. Much like intention in life, it allows for alignment. We choose what we absorb, what we engage with, and what we carry. Each decision shapes perception. In my work, each adjustment serves to bring the image closer to the emotional truth of the moment.

My influences are rooted less in specific artists and more in lived experience, travel, and the accumulation of memory. Moving through varied landscapes, both physical and internal, has deepened my sensitivity to subtle shifts in tone, light, and energy. Recurring themes in my work include transience, solitude, resilience, and the quiet search for clarity within complexity.

After moving through loss, change, and periods of deep grief, I learned to quiet external noise and turn inward. What once felt overwhelming gradually resolved into a more focused way of seeing. This perspective continues to evolve through endurance, surrender, and rebuilding.
My photographs are not intended to document a place as much as to translate a felt experience. They exist in the space between observation and emotion, where an image becomes less about what is seen and more about what is understood.
