Artist Statement
My paintings explore the felt experience of landscape rather than its literal form. Rooted in the wilderness of the Southwest, the work emerges from time spent moving slowly through the land—standing beneath trees, sitting in open meadows, listening to mountain streams and wind. I use water-soluble oil paints and loose, intuitive brushwork to respond to place through gesture, color, and rhythm.
