Andrew Williams
Artist Statement
Andrew Williams (b. 1988 - Dallas, Texas) (NMSU MFA candidate ’27) is a lens
based artist currently located in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. His photography
of contemporary America is an interpretation of how U.S culture interacts with the
natural environment. His work strives to transform the ways in which we view our
relation to nature by commenting on our relationships with one another. While his roots
in photography stem from a documentary approach, Andrew’s vision is apparent
throughout various genres. Working in the commercial photography world from
2010-2024, Andrew’s background as a digital technician has informed how calibration,
lighting, and problem solving focus on a particular subject for a desired final output.
