Artist Statement

The natural world is the foundation and inspiration for my work. Through oil and acrylic painting, I explore the vitality, movement, and emotional presence of life in nature using vivid, expressive color. Animals, plants, and human life appear throughout my paintings as interconnected elements within a living environment, reflecting my deep appreciation for the beauty and spirit found in the world around us. Together, my paintings form an evolving body of work that celebrates the interconnectedness of living things and reflects a consistent visual language rooted in color, movement, and life.
Color is central to my creative process. I begin each painting with an intuitive exploration of color relationships and movement, gradually building layers of paint that allow forms to emerge and evolve. This approach allows me to move beyond strict realism and develop images that feel alive, expressive, and uniquely personal. Animals often become focal points in my work, not only for their beauty but for the individuality and presence they convey. Organic forms and plant life frequently weave through my compositions, reflecting growth, rhythm, and the constant transformation found in nature.
I work from a light-filled studio in my home, surrounded by the quiet landscape of the countryside. Observing the subtle changes in wildlife, plants, and seasonal light provides ongoing inspiration and informs both the color and atmosphere of my paintings. This environment supports a reflective and intuitive approach to my work.
Each painting is original work created in my studio and developed through a layered painting process that allows for discovery, adjustment, and expression along the way.
