Artist Statement

My work explores the intersection of structural permanence and emotional fluidity. Utilizing the visceral, tactile nature of oil paint, I translate the world into a series of rhythmic, geometric architectures.
I am fascinated by the concept of "perceptual fracturing"—the way a single moment or image is broken down by the mind into light, color, and form. In my figurative works, I move away from realism to find a "mask" of the subject, using faceted planes to represent the complexity of identity. In my more gestural, abstract pieces, I embrace the kinetic energy of the medium, allowing drips and sweeping impasto strokes to dictate the emotional landscape of the canvas.
Ultimately, my practice is a search for order within chaos. Whether I am layering a structured grid or disrupting it with a frantic line, I seek to capture the underlying vibration that connects the human form to the natural and built environments.
