Artist Statement

I fell in love with the wonders of clay 25 years ago. After graduating with a ceramics degree from the University of Central Oklahoma I moved to Bozeman in 2004 where I worked for two main stream pottery outfits, Mountain Arts Pottery and Carl Sheehan at Fire Hole Pottery. I was a contract thrower and I also loaded kilns and did slab work as well as glaze. When I met my husband and moved to Big Sandy I was finally able to solely focus on my own work. I work from home and have a little storefront downtown. I love to travel for art fairs across the state, and have my wares in a nice downtown spot in Bozeman. Taking in life’s simple moments is something I fully enjoy, and if I can make pottery that facilitates that then I feel like I’m contributing to the beauty of everyday life.
