Guillaume Allamel
Artist Statement
I see myself as an interpreter of my surroundings. My work begins by listening and gathering the overlooked: shadows on concrete, wind moving through grass, the quiet labor of roots beneath the soil, or the quiet tension between bodies in space. I listen with my eyes, tracing my encounters until a message becomes legible.
I am drawn to the stories carried by landscapes, such as the patient memory held in stones or the resilience of a shoreline reshaped by tide, and I translate these quiet histories with a pluralism of media (painting, printmaking, ceramics, mosaics, photography, and woodworking).
Through this storytelling process, I hope to create work that invites stillness and recognition—inviting viewers to pause, to lean closer, and to remember that we, too, are part of this world’s living archive.
