Artist Statement

"I use the richness of oil paint to capture the subtleties of human expression. I am particularly interested in the 'unnoticeable' emotion—the fleeting look or the heavy silence that defines a person’s state of mind. My process is guided by the faces I encounter; I paint those I feel a pull toward, seeking to translate their energy through an atmospheric use of color. By emphasizing the eyes and softening the surrounding environment, I aim to create a direct, intimate dialogue between the subject and the observer."
