Artist Statement

I am an abstract artist living in the Bay Area, California.
My work focuses on intuitive expressions of nature utilized as a window into the landscapes of the mind.
By drawing inspiration from desert landscapes, mountains, and plants, I shed light on the idea of clarity holding hands with fragility. Just as nature is both chaotic and beautiful, so are our minds and experiences.
Themes of pilgrimage, returning from exile, and journeying up a mountain to gain new perspectives are woven into each piece. The colors are heightened to reflect both the colors in my mind and the beauty of desert sunrises, lavender sunsets, and mountain light.
My process centers around the balances between limitation, play, and experimentation as reflected through unorthodox painting application, collage, and mixed media drawing.
