Artist Statement

My name is Dena Jo Wilson. I am a wife, a mother to 4 grown kids, a grandmother to three boys, and a successful business owner. I am also a self taught artist. I have never had any formal art training. But in 2002 art found me. I felt compelled to start painting as a way to outwardly express the things God was showing me inwardly. My first art show was at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. Over the years I have continued to paint using acrylic, found objects, pages from the Bible, etc. My art is full of color, movement, and fun because we all need more of that! I desire for my pieces to be alive with the Spirit of God bring inspiration, revelation, and a fresh new fun perspective to all who view it.
