Artist Statement

My name is Ammie Avolio, owner of Hello Sunshine Pottery. I happened to see Steven's Instagram post announcing The Breath and the Clay last week. It spoke to me as I'm a potter who had just made a piece called Aliento (Life Breath) a few days before reading his post. He kindly invited me to submit my artwork to this Art Exhibition. I happily accepted. The three pieces I am submitting are from a work of art I just finished this week, called The Empress Collection. Each piece was named with a purpose before I ever sat at my wheel to make them. This is a new way of creating for me, and I know I am being led by The Ultimate Creator.
