Artist Statement

Michael Thomas' series 'Painting Pigeons' is an attempt to express a dramatic context between vermin and colorful portraits. To painstakingly paint pigeons with this much respect gives his work a light hearted and humorous feel that also makes them very approachable to viewers outside the "art world." This grounded series conveys perspectives of reevaluation of the subjects that should be paralleled for all of us throughout our every day...(Not just with birds)
