Artist Statement

Dedicated to my Queens community, "...in darkness there is light" was photographed at the epicenter of the Covid lockdown in New York City. In the tradition of the City Symphony, the film is a cinematic lament on presence within absence to find transcendence.

Applying a painterly approach to grief, celluloid and subway tracks merge through emotional color abstractions. Recorded sound vibrations and pinhole cinematography capture a time & place forever etched in our history.
