Artist Statement

At Hugging Bubbles, soap is not merely a cleansing agent; it is a canvas, a ritual, and a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern luxury. Nestled in the pristine Bitterroot Valley of Montana, our studio is a sanctuary where nature’s finest gifts are transformed through time-honored, hands-on craftsmanship into sculptural works of art for the skin and soul.

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that true luxury lies in authenticity, patience, and reverence for the natural world. Every bar of Hugging Bubbles soap is a testament to this ethos — meticulously hand-poured, hand-stirred, and crafted without shortcuts or machinery. We reject the convenience of stick blenders and mass production, choosing instead the slow, meditative process of hand blending to preserve the delicate bioactivity of rare, food-grade botanical oils and butters. This labor-intensive approach ensures that each batch retains its full potency, texture, and unique character.

Our formulations are inspired by the profound healing traditions of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda, systems that have nurtured skin and spirit for millennia. We marry these ancient botanical wisdoms with the wild bounty of Montana’s organic herbs, which we cultivate in our garden and forage from the surrounding valleys. This fusion of global heritage and local terroir creates a sensory experience that is both timeless and deeply rooted in place.

The oils and butters we use are rare and precious — many are prized ingredients in high-end facial serums and luxury skincare lines but are seldom found in artisanal soaps. From camellia and meadowfoam to shea nilotica and murumuru, each ingredient is selected for its nourishing properties and its story. We render our own grass-fed organic beef tallow and dairy, and harvest honey and beeswax from our own apiary, ensuring every element is pure, sustainable, and ethically sourced.

Our soap bars are more than functional products; they are poetic landscapes and botanical narratives. Each design captures a moment in nature — a mountain ridge at sunset, a river winding through a valley, the soft glow of a harvest moon. These visual stories invite the user to slow down, to connect with the earth, and to embrace a ritual of self-care that transcends the ordinary.

Beyond soap, Hugging Bubbles is evolving into a complete wellness system. Our new line of Abhyanga ritual products — including face oils, creams, hair balms, and lip creams — extends our commitment to holistic nourishment. These products embody the same principles of purity, craftsmanship, and botanical synergy, offering a full spectrum of care that honors the skin’s natural rhythms and the body’s innate wisdom.
