Artist Statement

I was trained as a medical illustrator and earned a Master of Science degree in the field. That experience taught me to observe the human body with precision and care, to understand its structure, and to respect its complexity. After several years, however, I felt drawn away from scientific description and toward a more personal, expressive way of working. I left medical illustration to pursue a career as a fine artist.
I work primarily with colored pencils, pastels, and drawing pencils.
