Artist Statement

My sculptures explore contrast and unexpected structures in a variety of materials. I am interested in how opposing forces such as strength and fragility, light and shadow, balance and instability can coexist within a shared space, as they do in our lives. The Orbs represent a continuum between exterior and interior spaces, revealing forms shaped by experience, motion, and memory. They seek light and clarity, engage with shadows, and allow certain spaces to remain unseen, holding both distance and connection. I use clay, stone, concrete, gold leaf, and wood to express these concepts. Light expands this visual language and adds an additional layer for discovery.
