Artist Statement
I am a woodcut printmaker in Minneapolis, inspired by a deep love of the prairie, the wetlands, the lakes, and woods of Minnesota along with the wildlife that call it home.
The prints depict Minnesota plants, birds and landscapes. Through my work, I invite the viewer to consider how much we have to cherish and protect, and how of how special Minnesota is.
The process of carving my image into a wood block, layering colors of inks and printing them onto a really nice piece of paper changes my original drawing into something more and often offers me some surprises.
