Artist Statement

My work is rooted in storytelling, emotional weight, and the moments that exist after something has already happened. Rather than illustrating clear narratives or dramatic climaxes, I focus on the aftermath—what lingers when responsibility, loss, or failure settles in and cannot be undone.

I create one-of-one paintings that draw from lived experience, underground tattoo culture, and personal history. My visual language is influenced by traditional tattoo imagery and mythic symbolism, but my intention is not decoration. I use these forms as containers for psychological tension, restraint, and unresolved emotion.

The figures and environments in my work often feel suspended in time. They exist in quiet, uneasy spaces where meaning is implied rather than explained. I deliberately avoid closure, allowing the viewer to bring their own experiences into the work rather than being told how to feel.

My process is intuitive but disciplined. I work slowly and deliberately, letting each piece arrive at its own limits. I do not recreate or duplicate paintings, believing that each work should exist as a singular object tied to a specific moment and state of mind.

At its core, my practice is about honesty and responsibility—making images that hold emotional weight without turning pain into spectacle. I am less interested in comfort than in presence, and I aim to create work that stays with the viewer rather than resolving itself quickly.
