Artist Statement

'Painting for me is an unrestricted intuitive universe with expanded boundaries that combine the 'Life Spirit' (via brush, paint, and mixed media)of the subject and natural elements (air, water, earth, fire) that develop and evolve into a lyrical cosmic naturalism.'

“Mystical Fusion” and charismatic persona have attracted a select circle of prestigious collectors. His artwork is in several important public and private collections in the United States, including those of the Smithsonian, NASA Space Center Art Museum, The Housatonic Museum of Fine Arts, The Manchester Museum of Fine Arts, The Museum of Arts and Sciences, The Eastern Connecticut State University Museum of Fine Arts, Nova Southeastern University Museum of Fine Arts, and the Daytona College Art Museum.

He has achieved a great deal of professional success as he has worked with some of the most notable art advisors and galleries in the country. He has taken this one step further by maintaining studios in Huntington, Connecticut and Palm Coast, Florida. A prolific international workshop instructor and co-ordinator of most multi-media workshops for the past 52 years, he is listed in “Who’s Who Among American Teachers”, and is a member of the prestigious Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan, Connecticut, (the oldest fine arts guild in the USA begun by Solon Borglum). His awards and distinction are numerous. In addition, he has co-exhibited with fellow artists, such as David Hockney, Robert Kaupelis, Louise Nevelson, Kenneth Noland, Frank Stella, Charles Reid, Faith Ringold, Robert Natkin, Milton Avery, Bernard Riley, Jacque Lipschitz, Helen Franenthaler, and Christo-Jean Claud.
