Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the unremarkable. I find myself obsessed with ordinary scenes, searching for the single element that contains everything else, then letting the rest fall away.
Through digital painting, I distort color, shadow, and scale to close that gap between what a moment looked like and what it actually felt like. Pushing these elements with a heavy hand reduces full environments to their barest visual logic, sitting at the edge of representational and abstract while remaining familiar.
