Patricia Chatelain
Artist Statement
Patricia Chatelain is a native to the New Orleans area who recently returned after living in Arizona and California for many years. She has a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts from LSU and a Master's Degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University. She has worked in the Phoenix and Los Angeles areas in various artistic fields, as an arts instructor, a freelance sculptor and prop maker, and as a designer for home interiors. She was a member of the Glendale Arts Association, exhibiting at White's Fine Arts Gallery and other Association venues while in California.
Her work is inspired by natural surroundings, and is primarily landscapes, beginning as plein air sketches, watercolors or oil pastels while in the field, and then finished as oil paintings or encaustic on panels in the studio.
