Artist Statement
As an interdisciplinary artist, my work is rooted in exploring cultural identity, land acknowledgment, and community engagement. I incorporate mixed media, photography, sculpture, and performance to create immersive experiences that connect people to history, place, and personal transformation. My art investigates the intersections of Afro-Indigenous heritage, environmental justice, and social consciousness, using storytelling as a means of reclaiming narratives and fostering dialogue. I draw inspiration from natural materials, historical research, and personal memory, creating work that is both visually compelling and deeply symbolic. Through my practice, I strive to create spaces for healing, education, and reflection, where communities can engage with art as a living and evolving process.
