Artist Statement

We are Laura and TC Carpenter, and we are The Carpenter’s Creation. We specialize in original Wyoming and Montana photography mounted in hand-made, hand-finished and hand-aged frames. Our pieces are original, high-quality works of art that stand out in a crowd.

Laura’s photos are a unique blend of landscape and wildlife with a mood that is undeniable. Her work is not only about the image, but the feelings and emotions they evoke. We print the photos on a heavy canvas and seal it with a thick, brushed-on acrylic gel that gives each image a depth that is absolutely stunning.

I (TC) am the frame builder. They are best described as rustic contemporary, distressed and farmhouse style all with rich colors. My frames start with new wood and are meticulously aged to give a unique and timeless style that mimics a piece that has lived a long life. While I love, and occasionally use good old barnwood, these frames have a character that is one of a kind.

While Laura’s photos and my frames on their own are beautiful, we feel that the pairing of the two is where the finished piece comes to life. Whether the picture completes the frame or the frame completes the picture, you can decide. Either way, each finished piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art suitable to adorn even the most discerning of walls.
