Artist Statement

I am a passionate watercolor artist based in the Philadelphia area, drawing inspiration from the vibrant colors of everyday life and the world around me. My art reflects the elements of the world in which I find meaning and beauty. I am infatuated with representing color and light through representational images and scenes.

My interest in art began in high school and continued with formal study at what is now the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Life took me in other directions, and for almost 40 years, I focused my creative urges on horticulture and gardening, while dabbling in drawing and wood carving. About 10 years ago, I refocused on my art and watercolor as a medium, and I have been working consistently since. Whether through painting or gardening, my drive to create and represent things of beauty is my way of expressing thoughts and feelings that words alone cannot convey. My work is a journey of self-expression and connection with others.
