Kimberly Copeland

Artist Statement

Kimberly Copeland is a multidisciplinary artist whose work interweaves movement, sound, and visual expression. She holds a PhD in Education Evaluation and Research and a Master of Public Administration from Wayne State University, where her research centered on evaluating out-of-school arts programs and their impact on community engagement.

An experienced arts administrator and Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Kimberly currently serves as Director of Development and Philanthropy at Accounting Aid Society and is the Board President of the Downriver Council for the Arts. Her professional background spans fundraising, program evaluation, and nonprofit leadership across several Detroit arts and community organizations.

Kimberly’s visual and choreographic work has been presented in group exhibitions and performances across Michigan and the Pacific Northwest, including at the Downriver Council for the Arts, the Muskegon Art Museum, and the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts in Grand Rapids. Outside her professional roles, she enjoys dance, reading, and playing the accordion, continuing to explore the intersections of creativity, community, and expression.
