Artist Statement

I am a self-taught artist. During Covid lock-down in 2020 I picked up a brush to find balance between work and home life. My first choice of medium was acrylic, then watercolor. Since then, I added drawing from life and pain􀆟ng colorful abstracts. While taking online classes during the pandemic I fell in love with oil. As the founding member of the St. Charles Arts Council Oil Painters and Beyond-group, I enhanced my oil pain􀆟ng skills with still-life, cityscapes, and nature scenes in a modern impressionist
style. When life gets rough and I need to express impatience, a colorful, post-expressionistic abstract comes off my easel.
My motto “If I can do it, you can do it! People need more color in their lives!” I go through life by letting it in and allowing it to inspire me. The human mind’s ability to see and replicate the feelings though color will never cease to surprise me.
