Artist Statement
I have a job as an artist. The job can only be done by showing up to work. My job is to discover something new, unknown to me, another surprising fact of making art every day. My job is to show what is possible in color, emotion, and movement. I have been painting for 5+ years and not a moment goes by when I don't think of colors, shapes, feelings and how they create art. That I do with oil, acrylic and watercolor paints on canvas, wood, paper, metal, brushes, scrapers, cake decorating tools, bottle brushes, toothbrushes, shop towels, squeegees. My passion is discovery, what fits, and what doesn't. But what if what doesn't fit creates a world of it's own; the misfits, the outcast, the marginals. My art is inclusive of fits and non-fits. I am inviting the viewers to look, really look, stay for a moment and look at a piece of art as if it was a test. Do you see it?
