Artist Statement

I developed an appreciation for art at an early age. My mother was a painter and would share her skills with me as we spent many afternoons painting. Something I now do with my daughter. As an adult I am drawn to the sense one gets of getting lost in the process of painting and the challenge of always trying to do better; to paint different subject matters and try new techniques. I enjoy seeing the end result of my paintings. Many times I like my work and just as often I do not. I am told I have a style, what it is I have no idea. Some call it folksy, some refer to my work as semi-realism, I will let you decide.
