Artist Statement

Planes of existence is an ongoing sculptural ceramic series of individual worlds created by the many facets of the artist. Each gate transports the viewer to the world accessed only by the center of each portal.

Glory: The plane of glory is a confident world where ostentatious acknowledgment and ego thrive. A portal to where drama, flattery, and vanity are deemed to be the most valuable attributes. All are welcome who are ready for their close-up.

Mischief: The plane of mischief is one wrought with trickery, betrayal, long cons, and jump scares. Within this plane you must be careful with whom you speak, as you may be entering into a contract that is bound by blood. Caution to anyone who enters this portal.

Love: The plane of love is a world full of warm hearts, flirty conversations, and deep innuendos. Behind every shy smile and sweet wink is a soul searching for a deep connection. When traveling to this plane one must be prepared to offer your own heart.

Protection: The plane of protection is guarded. Blistering confidence shields deep seated fear. Stubbornness and identity cloud the skies causing all who inhabit the plane to bare a thick skin. Mind your tongue on this plane as defense can quickly turn to offense

Mystery: The plane of mystery is a dark realm where shadows lurk and desires are masked. Here one can envision a dream and cloak its power till it has become great. Mystery is a gift to those who wear their heart on their sleeve

Isolation: The plane of isolation is a cold frozen tundra inhabited by none. The whipping winds will tear at your sides and the silence will make your head numb. Those who seek this plane rarely find a way out.
