Artist Statement

Discarded electronics become the foundation for works that explore the space between function and imagination. Working primarily with recycled wiring and electronic components, I transform materials designed for utility into playful, intricate, and expressive forms.
My process begins with what is available. I collect and sort salvaged electronics, paying close attention to the colors, textures, and forms already present within them. Wires are bent, woven, layered, and often hand-painted to expand their visual possibilities. Components are carefully arranged and adhered, allowing each piece to emerge through a balance of planning, experimentation, and responsiveness to the materials themselves. The act of making is both intuitive and deliberate, guided by the character of the materials and the relationships that develop between them. Through repetition, pattern, and color, I seek to create compositions that feel at once familiar and unexpected, inviting viewers to look more closely at materials they might otherwise overlook.
This work embraces accessibility and limitation as catalysts for resourcefulness and discovery. Working within the confines of discarded materials encourages adaptability and creative problem-solving, allowing each piece to evolve from the possibilities inherent in what already exists. The constraints of the process become an essential part of it, shaping decisions and opening pathways that might not emerge through unlimited choice. By repurposing materials often overlooked or cast aside, I hope to challenge assumptions about usefulness and worth, revealing unexpected potential in everyday remnants of technology. Ultimately, these works reflect my belief that imagination can flourish through constraint and that careful attention can uncover value, complexity, and delight in the most unassuming places. Through this process of transformation, I aim to foster a sense of curiosity and encourage the reconsideration of objects and materials that surround us every day.
