Artist Statement

Creating art is a multifaceted endeavor that extends beyond mere visual depiction. It serves as a powerful medium for forging emotional connections, conveying personal expressions, and exchanging experiences. Art has the remarkable ability to evoke deep-seated emotions and heighten sensory perceptions, effectively transcending the confines of language. To me, art embodies a harmonious blend of spontaneity and precision, offering a means of communication that unites individuals and stirs profound feelings. It stands as not just a passion or an escape, but as a profound expression of both light and shadow, making the ineffable tangible.
A native to San Diego, I’m fortunate to have grown up in a creative family. Art has always been in my life, however until a few years ago it was not a primary in my life. Attending the University of San Diego enabled me to focus on a career and family while keeping art in my “mindset”.

My art education, so to speak, began with Art on 30th in San Diego. After completing a 6 month Mentorship program, I realized my outlook on art and desire to evolve was most impacted by Sheila Daube. (@sheiladaube) With her guidance, as well as the guidance of other professionals in San Diego I practice my craft.

I am an evolving artist. I am an experimental artist, embracing risks, attempting “new” daily.
