Artist Statement

As an abstract/impressionistic artist, my work is centered around the exploration of color, shapes, and movement. I am deeply inspired by the universal truths that surround us, and it is through my art that I seek to capture and express these profound concepts.

Color plays a pivotal role in my artistic practice. I believe that colors have the power to evoke emotions, convey meaning, and create a sense of harmony or discord. Through careful selection and arrangement of hues, I aim to create visual experiences that resonate with viewers on a deep level. Whether it be vibrant and energetic tones or subtle and calming shades, each color choice is intentional and purposeful.

Shapes are another fundamental element in my artwork. I am fascinated by the infinite possibilities that can arise from the arrangement and interaction of various geometric forms. By manipulating shapes, I strive to create dynamic compositions that engage the viewer's eye and invite them to explore the intricacies within the artwork. These shapes may be organic or geometric, fluid or rigid, but they all contribute to the overall visual language of my pieces.

Movement is a key aspect of my artistic expression. I believe that art should not be static but rather possess a sense of vitality and energy. Through the use of palette knives, scrapers, cardboard, bubble wrap, etc., I create lines and textures with the aim to convey a sense of motion within my work. This movement can be subtle or bold, gentle or frenetic, but it always adds an element of life and dynamism to the composition.

In creating abstract art inspired by universal truths, I seek to tap into something greater than myself. I draw inspiration from the interconnectedness of all things, the patterns found in nature, and the underlying principles that govern our existence. By exploring these universal truths through color, shapes, and movement, I hope to create artwork that resonates with viewers on both an emotional and intellectual level.
