Artist Statement

I most enjoy taking photographs during a moment of surprise, when a scene or subject appears unexpectedly as if by magic, inviting me to record it. This allows room for the unconscious mind to be at play in creating the image, often contributing an element of psychological depth. Work of this nature is characterized as Expressive Photography emphasizing a feeling or mood rather than an accurate recording.
