Artist Statement

I've been Oil Painting since Art School in 1990, and I still naively hope I can use my art as my full-time gig someday.

My somewhat new perspective as an artist, is it's kind of my responsibility to make art that's a reflection, or response to this moment in time in history on Earth. Decades after I'm dead, and people are wondering what it was like to live through the 2020's. I want my art to help inform how profound the time was.

My biggest accomplishment in public art was the "56th String Movement" mural in Manhattan. This mural received a LMCC MCAF grant towards supplies and generous paint donations from Golden Paints.

Who I really am as an artist is wanting to push forward a childlike wonder of everything, and somehow representing that visually in painting.

What influences my art today in random order is Physics, Zen, Positivity, Van Gogh, Current Events, Philosophy and Curiosity.
