Artist Statement

This textile art quilt represents the transition of music from inner expression to shared experiences. The source of of sound and emotion is displayed with the colorful shoelaces while the grayscale portrait symbolizes what the singer is experiencing.
The laces reach the right side of the quilt with an explosion of vibrant circles symbolizing what the listener experience. Here, the music resonates into something new and imaginative.
