Artist Statement

My work is a tribute to individuals that have impacted the time in which I have lived. By portraying the essence and energy that creates not just a portrait but a reflection of each person's work and words using vibrant colors.
The process starts with a name that I hear over and over. This is the universe telling me that I need to know more about this person. Then I look for a good photograph that I feel shows the subject in a manner that reveals their true essence. Research is done to help me familiarize myself with them and add depth to their portrait. Each piece is a process, a journey and labor of love as I look to portray each person for what they stand in a way that honors them.
The viewers will be inspired to feel the energy and appreciate on a deeper level the person portrayed.
