Artist Statement

I am a full time studio artist for last 26 years, instructor, curator. The work done in my encaustic practice always considers color. Each painting has pans of color pre mixed for the painting. Quantities are important. Once the painting begins I feel my way thru all the color choices lots of thought given because I know the beauty of encaustic pigment. I don’t strive for symmetry necessarily. I do like when the painting goes asymmetrical as well. The bottom line these paintings are gut instinct creations. Same goes for the 3 D painting I follow a vague idea involving lots of color choices.
