Jama Watts

Artist Statement

Award-winning jewelry designer Jama Watts was born and raised in Kentucky and now resides in Hampton where she creates jewelry, fiber art, and two-dimensional works in her home studio. She takes inspiration from the world around her, from the colors and lines of nature to the ebb and flow of a piece of music.

Jama earned her degree in art at Campbellsville University where she fell in love with the style of Edgar Degas and passion of Judy Chicago. She later began designing jewelry when she was pregnant with her daughter 20 years ago and has since been featured in Bead & Button Magazine, on HGTV's 'That's Clever!' and in a national ad campaign for Fire Mountain Gems.

My preferred dates for Offsite Norfolk are October 16 - December 4, followed by August 21 - October 9, but other dates also work.
