Artist Statement

My work is wheel thrown stoneware fired to cone 6 in an oxidation atmosphere. I airbrush pieces using multiple Mason stains after applying many different area blocking agents. I overlap this with brush splashes, finger applications, and other applied techniques. I sometimes apply body impressions to enhance the work.
I like to begin my glaze design with order and end with disorder or a disheveled, chaotic, look. I refer to this as "ordered chaos "!
My thoughts are to reveal layer under layer similar to peeling paint and aged, weathered billboards.
