Artist Statement

For me, painting is about discovery. I like diving in not quite knowing where I'll end up. My oil paintings might spring from a sketchbook doodle, a life drawing, a collage, a photo, or a stray memory. The layers and themes that emerge continually evolve and undergo experiments (often on my iPad) until it appears that a piece is done.
