Artist Statement

My sculptural work is centered around clay and takes an abstract form, reflecting my background as a automotive tool designer. I reduce fixtures and tools to their essential elements. This process of reduction informs the shapes and structures in my work, translating mechanical components into abstract forms. My technique involves slab building with clay. Inspiration for my pieces comes directly from the assembly and welding tools i have designed throughout my career. These tools serve as a visual and conceptual starting point, influencing the lines, texture and overall composition of my work.
