Artist Statement

In my work I start with the imagery, experience and imaginings of my daily walks—taken mostly at night through suburban spaces. I then use these landscapes as stages for enacting fictional human dramas with recurring themes of exile, personal trial and awakening. Some of my landscapes are devoid of people and serve more purely as metaphors for my thoughts, feelings and fears. Reflected in my most recent imagery are the isolation and uncharted anxieties of the past year.
