Kristina Bickford

Artist Statement

Kristina Denzel Bickford is a multi-disciplinary artist with strong roots in the sciences and education. Her practice involves sculpture, installation, painting, printmaking, fibers, and metalsmithing. Most of her work serves as an exploration of gender roles and the femme body through materiality, data collection, and humor. In 2025, Kristina created a business for her jewelry designs as a way to continue being a working artist while producing more marketable work. Using mostly sterling silver and sometimes brass, stones, and found materials, Kristina?s jewelry features organic forms and sometimes subtle humor to explore the ideas of beauty and art patronage in the 21st century. She holds a BA from Colby college with a double major in biology and art, and an M.F.A. from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
