Artist Statement

My work has developed over the years into a looser, freer style of painting. My focus is more on the feeling I want to convey in my work, by using bright colors and contoured lines. I use my photographs as a reference and then let my imagination soar, changing shapes and subjects until it appears on the canvas as the canvas seems to beckon. I am primarily an oil painter, but enjoy other media.
Art to me is an all encompassing aspect of my life, and my aspirations are to provoke thought and instill joy from it to the audience.
