Artist Statement

While I had enjoyed painting with watercolor for a number of years, I more recently discovered the world of pastels. During the pandemic I have had the time, motivation and inspiration to paint everyday while my job as a therapeutic harpist at Bryn Mawr Hospital has been put on hold. As we have slowed down in quarantine, through exploration and on-line classes I have found my passion for painting with pastels. I have translated my long walks and observations of the natural world onto the canvas, and the process of creating has become one of the joys of my life.
