Artist Statement
I combine photography and textiles in my work to explore ideas around memory and family history, and I often bind my work with safety pins. I am drawn to the storytelling nature of portrait photography, the historical legacy of various fabrics, and the flexibility of safety pins, able to accommodate any change. I work in these three mediums to interpret the ever-changing nature of our internal narratives.
