Artist Statement
I am drawn to light and shadow in both nature and the figure. I am fascinated by the way light brings color and form to life. I find light and shadow, whether subtle or dramatic, equally as exciting to paint. I am compelled to try and represent those images with oil on canvas. The process of this discovery is just as, if not more, thrilling than the finished piece.
