Artist Statement

I am a plein air watercolor artist. I started painting in 1988 and though I have had no formal training, I have learned from other artists along the way. My work features Yosemite, where I started to paint, and Ventura county where I live. I prefer plein air because it captures the spirit of the place, which is lost by trying to paint from a photograph.
